When does my benefit coverage end?

Your coverage will end if;

  • Your employment is terminated
  • You are laid off
  • You retire
  • You go on an unpaid leave and choose not to pay contributions to maintain coverage
  • You stop working 15 hours or more per week
  • Your employment status changes to casual, and you either elect not to pay contributions or are not eligible for coverage as a casual employee

For employees who hold regular status, coverage for Dental and Extended Health generally ends at the end of the month. Coverage for LTD, Group Life, and AD&D ends immediately

For employees who hold casual status, coverage generally ends at the end of the month if your employment is terminated, you are laid off, retire, cancel your coverage, or elect not to pay contributions to maintain it.

Please note, LTD coverage will end five months before your 65th birthday.

Please review the Benefits Booklet according to your employment status.
