NOTICE TO EMPLOYEES COVERED BY THE JOINT COMMUNITY BENEFITS TRUST – PILOT PROJECT ENHANCES SERVICES OF YOUR BENEFIT PLAN

The Trustees of the Joint Community Benefits Trust (JCBT) are notifying you regarding your Health Benefits Plan and enhanced services that will be offered effective October 7th, 2021.

The Joint Community Benefits Trust is committed to supporting the Mental Health of its members. The JCBT has approved Special Program Funding for a three-year pilot project to provide virtual health support for alcohol and substance use.

Please note members represented by the Community Bargaining Association of BC but who are in receipt of Long Term Disability benefits and were disabled before April 1, 2017, are covered by the Healthcare Benefit Trust, not the JCBT. As a result, any plan changes or new services do not apply.

Your Health Benefits are provided by the Joint Community Benefits Trust.  This Trust was established on April 1, 2017, to ensure you receive Extended Health and Dental, Long Term Disability, Group Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefits. In 2021, the Trustees of the JCBT established the Special Funding Committee to address the Memorandum of Understanding 31. The ALAViDA TRAiL program is funded by the Special Program Funds.
